Artomatic@Frederick is up and rolling….

October 11, 2011

Wow! where have these past two weeks gone? As we prepare to open on Week 3 of this event, I must say that it has been more amazing than any of us could have imagined. The crowds, the positive feedback, the overall embrace we’ve received from the entire community has been phenomenal! Thank you Frederick for all your support.

We have a few new things to share this week in the spirit of positive community! Beer and wine glasses are now available at the Artomatic@Frederick store – a great way to remember your AOM experience – PLUS – you will also receive a special discount card to show at participating restaurants and bars in the Downtown area! This week you can receive specials at Church Street Pub, Cafe Nola & The Cellar Door. A donation of $10 gets you the glass of your choice. Stop by the store on your next visit to Artomatic@Frederick for these and other goodies!

Everything’s Ready….

September 26, 2011

Wow, it’s all finally come together. Artomatic@Frederick is alive and well and bursting at the seams. The building is amazing….filled with art of all color, shape, description, statement….anything you could want. Our artists have worked like mad to present a spectacular display. So don’t miss it whatever you do!!! Offically open to the public on Wedenesday September 28. The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting will be held Saturday, October 1 at 5 p.m. The artists will be there to talk to you about their work and ply you with light refreshments. Take the opportunity to meet them and discuss so many different aspects of ART. The festive occasion will be great, and after that, come back and take your time and see it all again. It will be there until November 6.
Also, check the calendar for the times and dates of all the live performances. Most evenings will have music, drama, readings….many different types of entertainment for everyone.
Be sure and watch the ‘loop’ of photographs that represent the artists works. Find your favorites and seek out their spaces for more images and information.
We are all so excited to meet you on October 1st. See you then….

Art, Art everywhere…..

September 15, 2011

I’m almost finished with my own space at Artomatic. Lots of other artists can now say the same. Being in there yesterday, hanging paintings, arranging handouts, admiring everything….there was a low hum of activity throughout the building. A banner is hung on the outside now for all the world to see. The place is going to be a feast for the senses.
And you don’t have to be a participating artist to be part of Artomatic@Frederick. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities. Just a few hours of your time and you too can be involved. Just go to the ‘volunteer’ spot on the website and with a click of your mouse, you are part of the action. You can greet people when they come in, work in the Artomatic store, any number of things…. Give it a try.
The main thing is to be sure to experience Artomatic!!!! See you there….

A new look in the old building….

September 10, 2011

I was in the Artomatic building the other day….115 E. Church Street in downtown Frederick, Md. Big changes are happening….walls being painted, displays being constucted, artwork being hung and installed, furnishings being moved around. A flurry of activity. It may have been drab and rainy outside, but inside vibrant creativity abounds. There is a wonderful variety of styles, media and arrangement.
Be sure and keep an eye on the calendar of events on this website. Drama, music, poetry will all meld with the 2D and 3D artwork. Open to the public Sept 28!!! Don’t miss it!!!

All spaces are filled….

September 1, 2011

Artomatic@Frederick is full and registration is closed.

Now the fun begins…. Artists have begun designing their displays and the installations are being assembled to present some great art exhibits. Venues on all the floors and rooms are beginning to take shape. This will be completed in the next few weeks in anticipation of the gala opening night. Please check the website calendar often. New entries are being added all the time and will include the schedule of performances. Bands and performers from all over the region will be entertaining the crowds. There will be something for everyone’s tastes. So come and support your favorite groups. Who knows…you might find a new favorite.

Be sure to ‘Like’ Artomatic@Frederick on your Facebook page and you will get the most current schedule of events. It is constantly updated with new information of all the important happenings.

This six week event is going to be so exciting. You don’t want to miss any of it!!! See you there!!!

Make sure you tour Artomatic@Frederick….

July 15, 2011

The first of the tours of Artomatic@Frederick exhibit spaces have begun.  They’ve been well attended and are creating interest and excitement among the many artist and performers that are going through the building.  As most of us are a visual bunch, I know that the wheels are turning as we go through each door into yet another gallery room.  The spaces are as varied as our creative expression.  Some walls are smooth and white, some stone or brick, some covered with textures.  Some rooms are small and intimate, others large and wide open.  There are lots of shelf areas and ledges for sculptual displays.  In other words, there is something for everyone.  You can’t help but visualize your work hanging in these spaces and expecting crowds of people looking over all of it.  Tell everyone about this great venue.  Frederick is going to be amazed!!!!
