I already left you a message I think but I got your notice through an e-mail from the Yellow Barn; anyway, let me know if I can come up to Frederick tomorrow or Sunday to look over the space and what time is available. Thanks and regards,

visited the site today and loved it!

I’ve been in every Artomatic since 2002 and I think this is going to be a FANTASTIC Artomatic

The building is excellent – it’s back to the “old school” Artomatics in buildings with a lot of character….and the location is probably the best of any Artomatic I’ve been in.

This is going to be a huge boost to the Frederick art community

This sounds great! I am excited. I couldn’t find the dates of the event on the website — Kinda weird. Glad they are on here!

Have spaces already been assigned as part of the tours you’ve scheduled? If not, when are they assigned? If not assigned, when can artists claim a space? Thanks

Spaces will be selected based on the order of registration – which opens online at http://www.artomaticfrederick.org on Monday, August 1st. Since this is a first come, first serve event – the first 25 registrants will visit the building at a later date to select their spaces; then the next group of 25 and so on – as mentioned – there is a lot of space to work with – so we do not foresee any issues.

Having now toured the building, I can appreciate the work that has been done to date. However, the marked off spaces seem too many and way too small for an artist to exhibit his/her work in an inviting or engaging way. Add to that the constrant of the upper floors not having ventilation and things begin to look, well, constrained. Artomatic as a concept to allow a wide range of artists to participate was revolutionary at the beginning and might still be so. I would urge the managers to continue to consider issues of space and atmosphere so that artists AND the visitors are comfortable and learn something new about the arts in our area.

    In the registration process:
I have read and accept the guidelines for Artomatic@Frederick listed on the website.

I couldn’t find the guidelines anywhere on the website. Also there’s no information about how much display space an artist can expect to get.
