Make sure you tour Artomatic@Frederick….

July 15, 2011

The first of the tours of Artomatic@Frederick exhibit spaces have begun.  They’ve been well attended and are creating interest and excitement among the many artist and performers that are going through the building.  As most of us are a visual bunch, I know that the wheels are turning as we go through each door into yet another gallery room.  The spaces are as varied as our creative expression.  Some walls are smooth and white, some stone or brick, some covered with textures.  Some rooms are small and intimate, others large and wide open.  There are lots of shelf areas and ledges for sculptual displays.  In other words, there is something for everyone.  You can’t help but visualize your work hanging in these spaces and expecting crowds of people looking over all of it.  Tell everyone about this great venue.  Frederick is going to be amazed!!!!

I see on the calendar that Sept 10 is the beginning of artist space selection.
The entry states ” Groups will select spaces by Registration Order”.

    Q. For me as an individual artist what exactly does this mean as far as selecting a space?

Ron – you may tour the building this coming weekend – July 30-31st to get an idea of the space in general. As far as selecting your specific space, those will be done by the order in which artists register beginning August 1st. Then groups of 25 will go to the building and in order of registration, pick out their exhibit space. It will be reserved and future groups will have to select from available spaces. There is over 27,000 sq ft overall, so we do not foresee any problems. Hope this answers your question.

I’m the President of the Maryland Writers’ Association–Frederick Chapter. We have a solid list of pre-published & published authors in all genres. Is Artomatic anything that we, as a local writers group, might be able to take part in? I can see where poets could benefit. How might other genre writers get involved? I’d like to take a tour, & will make contact. Thanks!
